Cody always teases me for needing a full sized suitcase (or 2.. haha) no matter how long or short of a trip it is. I had a quick trip planned and decided to put myself to the test to see if I could scale it down to fit in a carry-on… Spoiler alert – I didn’t. 😂 But, I would have if I hadn’t packed my pillow! (Does anyone else have to pack their pillow when they travel to be able to get a good night’s sleep? 🙋‍♀️) But it still felt good to be able to scale down what I was packing to a few pieces to mix-and-match so here were some of my weekend getaway summer essentials:

Dresses are your best friend when you’re trying to squeeze a weekends’ worth of clothes and beauty products into a carry-on. They are an easy one and done piece. Love this pink dress! It’s a gorgeous color (perfect for Insta-worthy pics from your trip!) and the sleeves are sooo stunning! It’s also a really pretty material that you don’t have to steam after you unpack it. Summer is the season of biker shorts! For an easy, breezy look, pair some cute biker shorts with an oversized tank or tee and your favorite sandals and sunnies.
